I have always wondered why I am passionned by fashion. I have been raised by a family where fashion is not important at all. So my family environment can’t explain my attraction to clothes. I have started adoring clothes since the age of 12. I spent all the money I had for Christmas and for my birthday at Pimkie (my favorite brand of the moment). Passion has continued to grow with age. I first had a teenager style wearing flare jeans and sneakers. Then at 23, I was looking for a more feminine style. I used to wear tops with high heels and couldn’t bear wearing sneakers any more. In fact, it reminds me so much my teenage style and as I looked very young, I refused to adapt a style that rejuvenates myself. Anyway, I have kind of regressed lately as I am starting to wear again destroyed jeans, sneakers and printed tees.
For the little story, I had dinner with a friend last week (my 49 old friend) and when he saw me coming wearing a pair of destroyed jeans and Stan Smith, he couldn’t resist telling me I was dressed like a teenager. I’ve just answered : “it’s fashion and so what?”. But honestly, I haven’t appreciated it that much. I look so young that people at work take me for the trainee (I am turning 30 this year). Finally, it’s important to assume its own style, isn’t it?
Today, I would define my style as casual/chic. I like staying chic and feminine with a casual touch. When Boohoo contacted me to share with you a fun quiz to determine in which squad you belong to, I have accepted right away. First, I love Boohoo (especially its Petite collection) and secondly, I found interesting to talk about style with you.
I answered to the questions and it’s not surprising that I announce I’m part of the CASUAL squad. Girls who are part of this squad are “girls who have a simple style but who are also always chic. They don’t need to be overdressed. They are ready within 5 minutes with a unique outfit.” I am personally bluffed by this definition because it’s all me! And you? In what squad do you belong? Are you CASUAL, GLAM, URBAN, BOHO, SOPHISTICATED or GIRLY? It’s here if you want to do the quizz. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment under this post to share your squad with me!
To illustrate my casual squad, I chosed to show you a vacation trendy outfit wearing a denim overall dress from Boohoo Petite and a short white off-shoulder top from the same brand. I also wear black flats I bought in Dubai two years ago, an ethnics Boohoo travel bag and my new Les bijoux de Lu earrings I love (I have already talked about this brand here).
Have a lovely end of week, Xxx.
Fashion advice for petites
Wearing monochrome (same color for the top and bottom) is advised if you are a petite because it avoids to break the bust and the legs. So don’t hesitate to wear one-color jumpsuits, overalls and dresses.
