I’m so happy to show you today my new blog version. Nothing would have been possible without the illustrator Céline (I’ll talk about her work later in another article). The logo and the picture of myself on the side bar have changed. I have also added a section “petite, you too”? You can now find a link to a page full of advices to follow to dress if you are petite. Moreover, there is another page which summarizes all the addresses to find clothes fitted to petites.
It’s a bit late to show you my back to work outfit, but it’s better late than never. This kind of working girl outfit is the kind of attire I often wear to go to work. But without high heels. I only wear heels for special occasions : parties, weddings, job interview. For the everyday life, I prefer wearing comfy flats. It’s not because we are Petite that we always need to wear high heels.
As for me, I have opted for a chic outfit for my back to work day.
I wear a black blazer bought at Top Shop Petite last August. I have always had difficulties to buy blazers, even if I go shopping at petite sections. When the length is alright, it is the armhole which is too big. This blazer was a lovely surprise. It has an oversize design but not too large neither and the length is just perfect.
The ladybirds’ shirt come from Kookaï. I saw it for the first time at Printemps in Rennes in Summer and had a crush on its lovely ladybirds print and claudine collar. I didn’t want to buy it in August because it was the new collection and Kookaï always send discounts’ codes. So I’m not used to buying anymore without any discount.
A few days later, as expected, I received a “20% discount code” in my mail box. I was very happy and checked the e-store right away. Unfortunately, the shirt was sold out in my size. There were only 40 and 42 sizes left available. So, I physically went to a first store. The shirt was completely sold out. The saleswoman explained me that this shirt was a total success. Kookaï has not bet on it and hasn’t expected such a success. So there were not that much items left in France… (It’s the new collection and we are only the beginning of September). She was adorable and gave me the Kookaï stores numbers that could possibly have a 34 left in stock. I called the first one, the shirt was sold out. Same thing for the second one. The third one in Montmartre still had it. I was so lucky. Honestly, I think that when you really have a crush, it’s stupid to wait for it. That’s great, I saved money but I wasted so much time that it doesn’t worth it.
There are good news. This shirt with 3/4 sleeves is beeing released mid-October on the e-store and in physical outlets. So it’s not too late if you missed the short sleeves version.
To complete the outfit, I wear black Zara pump and my Johan Jérôme Dreyfuss bag.
Have a lovely week, Xxx.
Fashion advice for petites
When we are petite, we privilege short blazers because it lenghtens. But if you have a crush on a girlfriend design, which is more oversize, mark the waist, wear a slim and skinny jeans to respect the balance large top/tight bottom, wear a buttons’ shirt for the “vertical” effect and wear high heels!
