For this Monday, I show you an outfit with a hand-made piece of clothe.
On my last “DIY-sewing” article, I showed you my hand-made skirt made with a liberty of London fabric (article here). I don’t sew very quickly but it’s changing because I have just started sewing lessons in January. I have just ordered fabrics from the Cousette e-store and I have a lot of ideas for my future projects. I am planning to make a Marthe shirt (République du Chiffon), the Courcelles sweater (Cozy Little World), the Johanna shirt (République du Chiffon) and the Belladone dress from Deer&Doe.
To make this short sleeves dress (it is short sleeves but you can’t see it on the pics because I was too cold, I just couldn’t remove my coat while shooting), I used the clover dress pattern from Papercut Pattern, a graphic fabric from Atelier Brunette and fake leather from Bennytex. The dress was not difficult to realize, however the squares are not perfectly square. So it was not easy to cut in the strain grain.
I haven’t made any modifications on the pattern and haven’t done any sample neither. I have only cut 11 cm on the length because it was too long for me. For the belt, you can find the explanations with the pattern. It is really easy to make, I think it only took me 15 minutes.
I am quite satisfied with the final result. It is a cute dress which can be worn at any occasion.
For the touch of color, I wear my pink bag from Coach (black and white outfit is too sad for winter). The earrings have been bought on sale at Satellite, one of my favourite jewellry brand.
